Biography

Praised for his profound vocal tone and versatile stage acting, South Korean bass Hun Jeong is emerging as an exciting talent on the European opera scene.

He is currently a member of the OÖ Opera Studio (Upper Austria Opera Studio) at Landestheater Linz for the 2025/26 season, performing key operatic roles and collaborating with world-class artists. Concurrently, he is pursuing the prestigious Konzertexamen (highest performance degree) at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold in Germany under the guidance of leading vocal pedagogy experts.

He graduated from the Hochschule für Musik Detmold with a Master of Opera degree (2022-2024), where he excelled in several university and professional productions. His academic foundation was built in South Korea at Pusan National University, graduating with a Bachelor of Music degree (2014-2021).

Hun Jeong has captivated audiences with major roles including Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro, Osmin in both Die Entführung aus dem Serail and Zaide, and Don Alfonso in Così fan tutte across prestigious European venues and festivals such as Landestheater Linz, Schlossoper Ovelgönne, and Stadttheater Bad Hall.
